Prima Management Consulting company talks about technical capabilities in Azerbaijan

BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 28

By Sadraddin Agjayev - Trend:

The Azerbaijani legislation in the field of personal data protection complies with the international standards, expert analyst at Prima Management Consulting company Ilgar Aliyev told Trend.

“There is a common European regulation on the protection of personal data, known as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which is the basic document for most countries,” Aliyev added.

“On the basis of this legislation, not only personal data stored on the user's personal computer is protected, but also data on social networks, artificial intelligence, big data (this is a set of special methods and tools that are used to store and process huge volumes of data to solve specific tasks),” the analyst said.

"The Azerbaijani legislation in the field of personal data protection also protects the control and management of personal data of citizens from third parties,” Aliyev said. “There are organizations that ensure the country's cyber security in our country. They have sufficiently powerful technical means and resources to ensure the security of the country and its citizens. I mean specialists, highly qualified managers and IT employees, as well as other trained personnel."

The abovementioned conditions are not the same in all organizations, although most of them must meet these requirements.

“The participants in the Azerbaijani public and private sectors are following the trends in the field of modern world technologies and virtual security standards and bring the activity of organizations in accordance with these requirements,” the analyst said.

“GDPR standards will be partially or fully implemented in the Azerbaijani legislation soon,” Aliyev added. “As a result, not only the protection of personal data of individuals and private legal entities, but also the public sector will be strengthened.”

"Today, most organizations in Azerbaijan comply with the modern standards of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) and other types,” the analyst said.

“These documents set requirements, specifications, management principles or characteristics in accordance with which files, products and services can be used to ensure the safe operation of companies and other structures,” Aliyev added.

“The activity of our company, as well as a number of other Azerbaijani organizations, complies with these standards, most of them are at the stage of their implementation," Aliyev stressed.
