Azerbaijan carried out cargo transportation by air in the amount of $746.2 million from January through July 2020, which is almost four times less compared to the same period of 2019, Trend reports citing a report of the State Customs Committee (SCC).
During this period, the volume of cargo movement by air amounted to 45,684 tons, showing a 21.9 percent decrease year-on-year.
The volume of exporting airfreight dropped by 20 percent and amounted to 39,500 tons. In monetary terms, this figure stood at $140.2 million, an annual decrease of 8.4 percent.
During the reporting period, imports by air in terms of volume amounted to 6,200 tons, while in monetary terms – $605.9 million, dropping 4.6 times over the year.
In the first seven months of 2020, Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover totaled over $15 billion, which is 37.7 percent less compared to the same period of 2019.
