Kyrgyzstan ramps up industrial production in 7M2022

BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 12. Kyrgyzstan ramped up industrial production from January through July 2022, Trend reports referring to the National Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan.

According to the committee, the value of Kyrgyzstan's industrial production in the reporting period amounted to more than 227 billion soums ($2.7 billion), which is an increase of 17.8 percent compared to the same period of 2021.

The highest growth in the country's industrial production was recorded in:

- output of base metals and finished metal products, except for machinery and equipment (by 45.6 percent);

- production of wood and paper products (by 27.5 percent);

- oil products (by 14.6 percent),

- food products, including drinks, and tobacco products (by 12.9 percent).

The share of industry in Kyrgyzstan's GDP from January through July 2022 amounted to 20 percent.
