BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, March 27. The commissioning of the cement plant Terek-Tash in the Kemin district of Kyrgyzstan is expected in August of this year, Trend reports.
Akylbek Japarov, Chairman of Kyrgyzstan's Cabinet of Ministers,
made the announcement while on a business tour to a number of
industrial enterprises in the Chuy region.
It was reported that the plant's output capacity will be 3,800 tons
per day (more than 1 million tons per year), with a total
expenditure of $160 million.
Meanwhile, the Russian-Kyrgyz Development Fund had previously
earmarked $45 million for the development of this cement plant,
with 85 percent of the work already done.
According to the fund, this will be one of the largest enterprises in the country, operating on modern technologies. The production process will be waste-free, with the utilization of ash dumps from the Bishkek thermal power plant during cement production, which will help improve the environmental situation in the capital.
According to the State Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan, 197,000 tons of cement were produced in the country from January to February 2024, which is 1.3 percent more than in the same period of 2022.
