Trade volume between Uzbekistan and Ukraine increases despite COVID-19

The volume of trade in goods and services between Uzbekistan and Ukraine in 2020 increased by 30 percent compared to 2019, Trend reports with reference to the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Ukraine.

It is reported that the Ambassador of Uzbekistan Alisher Kurmanov and the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for Strategic Industries and Industry of Ukraine Oleg Urusky discussed the issues of enhancing cooperation in the field of industry.

According to Urusky, Ukraine needs to strengthen cooperation with Uzbekistan, since the current positive dynamics opens up prospects for the development and deepening of further relations between the countries.

It was noted that the resumption of the activities of the joint Ukrainian-Uzbek commission on comprehensive cooperation could play a special role in the processes of economic integration of the two countries.

In addition, the parties discussed a whole range of issues on the further development of multifaceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and Ukraine.

As a task for the near future, such goals as the organization of national exhibitions ‘Made in Uzbekistan’ and ‘Made in Ukraine’ in Ukraine and Uzbekistan, as well as the activation of the program of bilateral visits at the level of heads of industrial enterprises were identified.
