Two Iranian warships bound for Syria had docked there Thursday, according to a diplomatic source in Damascus, DPA reported.
The Iranian ships, which were reportedly headed for a training mission in Syria, passed through the Suez Canal earlier this week.
Iran's Press TV website reported that a 1,500-tonne patrol frigate, armed with torpedoes and anti-ship missiles, and a 33,000-tonne supply vessel were at a Syrian port.
