Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi on Tuesday said that Iran and the European Union must focus on cooperation and mutual trust, IRNA reported.
He made the remarks in a meeting with the new Swedish Ambassador to Tehran Peter Tylor.
Iran is a trustworthy trade partner for Europe, Salehi said calling for enhanced cooperation and mutual trust.
Referring to the significant success and progress Iran has made in science and technology, he said there exists untapped potentials for expansion of mutual cooperation in economy, commerce, culture and research studies.
The new Sweden ambassador, for his part, voiced his country's readiness to broaden cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Meanwhile, Peter Tylor submitted a copy of his credentials to the foreign minister.
