During the five months (March 21 – August 22) of this Iranian year (began March 21, 2019), the value of Iran’s agricultural products’ exports stood at $1.95 billion, Iran’s Deputy Ministry of Agricultural Jihad for Planning and Economic Affairs Abdol-Mahdi Bakhshandeh said, Trend reports referring to the Iranian Agriculture Ministry's website.
The deputy minister noted that the volume of exported goods was about 2.5 million tons.
Abdol-Mahdi Bakhshandeh added that Iran’s agricultural products were exported to Iraq, Afghanistan, the UAE, Pakistan, Russia, India, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Germany and some East Asian countries.
The deputy minister said that 10.04 million tons of agricultural and food products worth $5.62 billion were imported in the reporting period.
The volume and value of the main products exported by Iran in the five months are given in the table below.
