Nearly 8.649.3bln manat was invested in the economy of Azerbaijan in January-October 2011, an increase of 21.7% from the figures of the same period of the last year.
Especially, in October 2011, 1.072.6 billion manat was invested in Azerbaijan's economy, which is 19.1 percent more than investments in October 2010.
The main sources of investments in January-October 2011 are: funds of enterprises and organizations - 4.0848 billion manat (increasing by 8.1 percent compared with January-October 2010); budgetary funds - 3.2979 billion manat (increasing by 45.6 percent), off-budgetary funds - 299.0 million manat (with a decrease of 26.4 percent), bank loans - 671.8 million manat (increasing by 91.1 percent), funds of population - 291.7 million manat (increasing by 0.6 percent), other assets - 4.1 million manat (with a decrease by 73.6 per cent).
According to the data provided by the State Statistics Committee, private enterprises and organizations invested 3.430.5 billion manat (39.7 percent of total investments) in Azerbaijan's economy and public enterprises and organizations - 5.218.8 billion manat (60.7 percent). Major share of governmental investments are directed at implementing transport and infrastructure projects.
In January-October 2011, investments in the oil sector accounted for 27.8 percent (2.408.6 billion) of all capital investments in the economy, in non-oil sector - 72.2 percent (6.240.7 billion manat).
The gross investments in the industry totaled 3.627.6 billion manat with an increase of 14.8%. About 625.5mln manat was invested in the processing industry (+86.6). During the reported period, the gross investments in the extractive sector composed 2.378.7bln manat, which is 3.5% more than investments in 2010. Generally, 41.9% of investments fell on the industrial sector.
Investments for repair and construction work made up 5.247.6 billion manat (60.7 percent of total investments in the construction sector). Investment for the construction of production facilities totaled 4.053.2 billion manat, while non-production facilities totaled 4.596.1 billion manat.
Of the total capital investments, 76.7 percent accounted for domestic investment. Most (71.5 percent) of domestic investments was made in the state-owned enterprises and entities, and only 28.5 percent - private enterprises. A total of 3.1169 billion manat was invested in the construction of facilities financed by the state.

The total amount of foreign investments in Azerbaijan's economy hit 2.018.4 billion manat in January-October 2011, which is 17.1 percent more compared to the same of period of last year.
In January-October 2011, 83.5 percent (1.685.2 billion manat) of investments of foreign countries and the international organizations in the Azerbaijani economy accounted for investors from Great Britain, the U.S., Japan, France, Norway, Czech Republic, Korea, Turkey.
Great Britain continues to keep leading positions on the amount of investments in Azerbaijan. The country's share in amount of the foreign investments hit 44.3 percent. British investments hit 893.5 million manat.

Of the international financial institutions, the biggest amount of investments was allocated by WB in amount of 151.3 million manat with weight of 7.5 percent. WB projects cover different spheres of the country's economic life.
