Prices and situation in consumer market in Azerbaijan (January-November 2017)

According to the State Statistics Committee, as of January-November 2017, 39.6 billion manat accounted for the Azerbaijani consumer market, which is by 2.1 percent more than its turnover for January-November 2016.

The monthly consumer expenses are estimated at 370 manat per capita in January-November 2017 or by 47.5 manat more compared to January-November 2016.

The retail trade turnover amounted to 30.86 billion manat in January-November 2017, which is by 2.3 percent more than in January-November 2016.

Legal entities ensured 11.9 percent of the trade turnover.

Some 288.3 manat account for the people's shopping monthly, which is by 39.8 manat more than in January-November 2016.

According to the Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee, food trade (15,623.8 million manat) increased by 1.9 percent in real terms.

Some 13,849.1 million manat (2.7 percent of real growth) accounted for the retail sales of non-food items.

Paid services worth 7,532.5 million manat were rendered to the population in January-November 2017 or by 1 percent more compared to January-November 2016. Legal entities ensured 72.9 percent of this growth and rendered the services worth 5,490.4 million manat.

Every citizen of the country used paid services worth 774.1 manat per month in January-November 2017, which is by 67.8 manat more than in January-November 2016.

Transportation, public utilities and communication services prevail in the structure of paid services.

Prices

According to the State Statistics Committee, the prices on consumer goods and tariffs for services increased by 0.2 percent in November 2017 compared to October 2017.

The food prices and prices for non-food items increased by 0.3 percent, while the price for paid services remained unchanged during the reporting period.

The prices on consumer goods and tariffs for services increased by 13.4 percent in Azerbaijan in January-November 2017 compared to January-November 2016.

The food prices increased by 17.1 percent, non-food items - by 12.1 percent, paid services - 9.6 percent in Azerbaijan during this period.

The base index of consumer prices, calculated except for the goods and services subject to seasonal changes (fruits and vegetables) increased by 12.6 percent in January-November 2017 compared to January-November 2016.

The producer prices for industrial products increased by 6 percent in Azerbaijan in November 2017 compared to October 2017.

During the reporting period, producer prices in the mining industry increased by 7.7 percent, while in the manufacturing industry - 0.9 percent.

The producer prices for industrial products increased by 39.2 percent, while the producer prices in the mining industry - by 39 percent and manufacturing industry - 31.7 percent in January-November 2017 compared to January-November 2016.
