One killed, 12 injured in shopping complex fire in Bangladesh's capital
One firefighter was killed and at least 12 others were injured after a big fire broke out at Bangladesh's biggest shopping complex Basundhara City in the capital city Dhaka on Friday afternoon.
Information officer of the Shamorita Hospital Protit Kumar told Xinhua that a firefighter of the Basundhara Group, the owner of the shopping complex, was killed during the fire.
At least 12 people were injured during the fire and they were taken to nearby hospitals. Kumar said condition of three injured people in his hospital are critical.
The fire broke out at about 01:30 p.m. local time on Friday. Private news agency bdnews24.com quoted Fire Brigade director Major Motiur as saying that the fire originated from the 17th floor of the 19-storey building.
