Turkey purchased four divisions of the S-400 air defense system from Russia, said CEO of Rostec Corporation Sergey Chemezov in an interview with the Kommersant newspaper.

Chemezov noted that the total purchase price was $2.5 billion, and the first deliveries are scheduled for late 2019-early 2020.

Speaking about financial terms of the deal, the Rostec head said that the ministries of finance of the two countries had concluded negotiations on this issue.

Sergey Chemezov also emphasized the importance of the concluded agreement, pointing out that Turkey is the first NATO member country acquiring the Russian air defense system.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said in July 2017 that Moscow and Ankara agreed on deliveries of S-400 air defense system.
