Ministry discloses volume of cargo from Bulgaria transported through Turkish ports

BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 15

Some 1.08 million tons of cargo from Bulgaria were transported through the Turkish ports from January through April 2021, the Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure told Trend.

At the same time, 493,337 tons of cargo from Bulgaria were delivered to the Turkish ports by ships flying the Turkish flag, while 587,181 tons by ships flying the flags of other countries.

The ministry stressed that ships flying the Bulgarian flag during the reporting period did not transport cargo through the Turkish ports.

Some 436,075 tons of transit cargo from Bulgaria were transited through the Turkish ports from January through April 2021.

In general, 662,518 tons of cargo were transported to the Turkish ports from January through April 2021.

Around 9.8 million tons of cargo were transported by ships flying the flag of Turkey while 115.1 million tons by ships flying the flags of other countries.

Moreover, 24.5 million tons of cargo were transited through the Turkish ports during the reporting period.

As a whole, 33.8 million tons of cargo were transported through the Turkish ports in April.

Some 2.7 million tons of cargo were transported by ships flying the Turkish flag while 31.1 million tons - by ships flying the flags of other countries in April.

Thus, 6.4 million tons of cargo were transited through the Turkish ports in April.
