Four citizens of Iran, two of whom were engaged in drug trafficking, were detained while trying to trespass Azerbaijan's border, according to a message from Azerbaijani State Border Service (SBS).

One of the attempts to violate Azerbaijan's borders from the direction of Iran was prevented at the frontier post in the Dashkend village of the Yardimli district.

The offenders, disobeying the demands from border guards, tried to run back. As a result of the implemented measures Iranian citizens were detained. They are Mammadzade Saeed Mustafa, born 1995, and Embrahimi Tohid Ali, born 1989.

Another incident occurred at the frontier post in the Bilasuvar village of Bilasuvar district. Two Iranian citizens - Shamsaddin Javanshir Iltifat, born 1987, and Sahimugedde Hasan, born 1981, who were smuggling drugs, were arrested while trying to trespass the Azerbaijani border from Iran.

Seven kilograms of opium, 350 grams of heroin, 3.270 grams of marijuana and night vision equipment were found on the border violators, and then confiscated.

Operative-investigative activities on both facts are underway.
