Tbilisi Mayor Gigi Ugulava visited Electric rolling repair factory and inspected the goods produced on Tuesday.
The factory was founded by Tbilisi Metro in 1996. Since 2005, the plant began to modernize the rolling stock of Tbilisi metro, changed the visual look of cars and improved safety standards.
In order to provide more comfort to passengers interior was modified. From 2005 to the present day 111 cars have been upgraded, which is 70 percent of the rolling stock of Tbilisi metro.
The whole process of modernization will be completed by late 2013.
The factory also began exports of services to Armenia. In particular, in 2011, it was the Tbilisi factory that won the international tender announced by Yerevan Metro. The factory is modernizing Yerevan Metro.
