Iran, Russia sign co-op deal on trasport

Iran and Russia signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for cooperation in transportation, Iran’s Ministry of Roads and Urban Development reported Nov. 2.

The deal was signed by Iran's Deputy Minister of Roads and Urban Development Mehrdad Taghizadeh and Alexey Tsydenov, Russian’s deputy transport minister in Tehran at the end of the 8th Iran-Russia Joint Transportation Committee session.

The Joint Transportation Committee, held meeting for three days (Oct. 31 – Nov. 2).

The session comprised of four transport taskforces plus a fifth taskforce to provide and formulate documents and evaluate obstacles in the relations between the two countries.

Furthermore, the taskforces focused on sharing experiences in macro-policies, such as in intra-and intercity policies, transportation integration and transport economics.

The two parties agreed to cooperate in the four transportation fields including railway, marine, roads and aviation, Taghizadeh said, on the sidelines of the signing the cooperation document.
