Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev signed an order on Aug.8 on some measures in connection with holding the First European Games in Baku.
The Cabinet of Ministers was ordered to take relevant measures within two months on organizing the accreditation system of persons involved in arranging and holding the First European Games, as well as the participants of the games, determine the persons to be accredited, confirm the rules for accreditation and the form of accreditation card and take necessary measures to ensure the operation of the accreditation system.
Foreigners and stateless persons, permanently residing in foreign states and have been accredited in the appropriate order, can travel and leave Azerbaijan within 60 days before the opening of the First European Games and after 30 days following the completion of the games with a passport or other documents for crossing the border and the accreditation card, according to the document.
Foreigners and stateless persons, permanently residing in foreign countries and have obtained tickets for the First European Games can get a visa in the structural divisions of the Consular Department of Azerbaijan's Foreign Ministry located in Azerbaijan's international airports within 10 days before the opening of the games. When requesting a visa, it is necessary to present a ticket for the First European Games or the document confirming the acquisition of a ticket.
Foreigners and stateless persons permanently residing in foreign countries and have been accredited in the appropriate order and involved in labor activity in Azerbaijan for organizing and holding the First European Games, are not required to get work permit.
Finance Ministry and Foreign Ministry are due to solve the issues related to arrangement of logistical support to the activities on issuing visas at international airports of Azerbaijan to the persons traveling to the country for the First European Games.
Foreign Ministry has been ordered to give information to relevant bodies of the European Olympic Committee and foreign countries on the simplification of visa procedures for the persons traveling to Azerbaijan for the First European Games, to ensure the posting of the information about the simplification of visa procedures for the persons traveling to Azerbaijan for the First European Games on the internet resources of the ministry, as well as embassies and consulates of Azerbaijan in foreign countries.
Azerbaijan's State Migration Service is due to inform companies carrying out flights to Azerbaijan about simplification of the visa procedures for persons traveling to Azerbaijan for the First European Games.
