The number of divorce cases increased by seven per cent, while marriages increased by two per cent in Iran last year (Iranian year started on March 21), Iranian ISNA news agency quotes State Statistics Organisation head Ahmad Tusirkani as saying.
Tusirkani said the number of divorces reached 833,332, while the number of persons who married was 139,963 last year.
According to the report, those mainly under the age of 30 were divorced. Divorcees among women were aged 20-24, while divorced men were 25-29.
