A military helicopter crashed near a South Korean army base north of Seoul on Tuesday, defence sources said, dpa reported.
The number of casualties was not immediately confirmed as an an investigation was underway to identify the cause of the crash, Yonhap News Agency quoted unnamed officials as saying.
The South Korean and US militaries are currently conducting joint exercises amid heightened tensions on the peninsula.
