Chinese leader invites Kazakh president to G20

Chinese President Xi Jinping has invited Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev to visit the 2016 Group of Twenty (G20) summit, scheduled to take place in September in China, Chinese Ambassador to Kazakhstan Zhang Hanhui said, the Sputnik international news agency reported.

"I would like to say that your [Kazakh] president will visit China this year at the invitation of our President Xi Jinping," Hanhui told reporters in Astana. "It will happen in September. Nursultan Nazarbayev will attend the G20 summit."

The 11th G20 meeting will be held in the eastern Chinese city of Hangzhou on September 4-5, 2016.

The G20 is an international forum for the heads and finance leadership of the world's 20 major economies. The 10th G20 summit was held in Turkey in November 2015.
