About 1,200 branch offices and departments will be connected to the automated corporate and information system of Azerbaijani postal operator Azerpoct by late December, Azerpoct Deputy Director General Subhan Kazimov told media on Wednesday.
He said that at present, about 1,000 branch offices and departments of Azerpoct have been connected to the system.
"The post offices, located in inaccessible areas are connected to the corporate network by using satellite communications," Kazimov said.
The Automated Corporate and Information system is used by the operator to render financial services to the population.
Azerpoct has all legal rights to render financial services to the population. At present, the operator is allowed to make all banking transactions (except giving loans), on the base of the CBA license.
The postal operator has recently become a principal member of MasterCard.
Kazimov said that Azerpoct plans to connect to the international payment system Visa International soon.
