Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhammedov confirmed the "preparedness of his country to grow an efficient cooperation with the U.S.," the Turkmen channels reported.
Berdimuhammedov made this statement at the meeting with Commander of the United States Central; Command (CENTCOM) Colonel Daid Petraeus.

Barack Obama. According to the high ranking official of CENTCOM,
"the U.S. administration intends to promote multifaceted cooperation with Turkmenistan, considering this partnership as an important factor of security in the
Central Asian region."
Turkmenistan borders with Afghanistan and Iran. In foreign policy official Ashkhabad holds positive neutrality policy and defense sufficiency. Turkmenistan is the first of the republics of Central Asia has become a party to the NATO Partnership for Peace program, which provides for consultations including country's conditions, for example, a natural disaster. In addition, while the U.S. launched military operations in Afghanistan, Ashgabat has agreed to provide a transport corridor solely for humanitarian goods.
"Peace and stability are essential for sustainable development and prosperity of peoples, Turkey remains committed to international cooperation for general progress," Berdimuhammedov said at the meeting with Petreaus.
