Azerbaijani governing party MP opposes dubbing Turkish films

Azerbaijan, Baku, Feb. 2/ Trend , J. Babayeva/ MP of the ruling New Azerbaijan Party (NAP) opposes dubbing Turkish films.

"It is inadmissible to translate Turkish films and serials to Azerbaijani language," the NAP deputy executive secretary and MP Siyavush Novruzov said at the parliament on Feb. 2

Azerbaijan National Television and Radio Council (ANTRC) banned broadcast of films in foreign languages, including Turkish from Jan. 1. According to the ANTRC decision, foreign films must be translated into Azerbaijani.

He said if Azerbaijan and Turkey are one nation and two states, one nation can not have two languages.

"It is the same case when American films are translated into British English," MP added.
