Georgia, Tbilisi, August 10 / Trend , N.Kirtskhalia / The question of appointing the U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Matthew Bryza as U.S. ambassador to Azerbaijan has not been decided yet.
"The question on my appointment as ambassador to Azerbaijan has not been decided yet," he said at a briefing for journalists on August 10.
He added that he would continue his work in the Caucasus with pleasure, but this is decided by his leaders.
The period of his position as co-chairman of the OSCE Minsk Group, which deals with the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, will conclude soon.
In early June, Foreign Policy Magazine reported that the U.S. Congress holds informal consultations on the possibility of appointing Bryza as ambassador to Azerbaijan.
