Azerbaijani and Greek governments sign an agreement on cooperation and mutual assistance in preventing and eliminating consequences of natural and technological disasters.

The agreement was signed during the visit of the delegation headed by the Azerbaijani emergency situations minister Kamaladdin Heydarov on Greek minister of citizen protection Michalis Chrysohoidis, the Emergency Situations Ministry's website reports.

Azerbaijani delegation was on an official visit to Greece Feb.22-23. During the visit, a meeting of the two ministries' delegations was held. The meeting stressed the successful development of Azerbaijani-Greek relations, and discussions on the strengthening and further development of ties between the two ministries, on the prospects for future cooperation and other issues of mutual interest, was held.

Azerbaijani delegation visited the Syantagma metro station located in Athens. The delegation was provided with detailed information on the metro security system.

Also, meetings were held at the base of the Air Force at Eleusis, in operational centers of police and fire protection in Greece.
