Azerbaijan, Baku, Jan. 18 / Trend, E. Mehdiyev /

Deputy Chairman of "Adalat" party, Etemad Ismailov supports his party's participation in the upcoming elections.

"Adalat" party has not yet made a decision on the upcoming elections", he told Trend today. "We will voice our position on this issue, when we make a decision. I believe that a representative of the party must participate in the elections."

Presidential elections will be held in Azerbaijan in autumn this year.

Deputy Chairman of the party said that the nomination of a single candidate from the opposition camp can be effective, but stressed that the dependence these parties share will not allow them to achieve unity on this issue.

"The opposition may be more competitive with a single candidate", he said. "We must take into account the fact that despite the circumstances surrounding Azerbaijan's existing political circles, these circles are not comprised of completely independent parties."

Certain parties are colluding with people abroad and are dependent on their positions, he said.

"Some political parties are influenced by some people", he said. "The consequence of this is that the opposition will not achieve unity for many years".
