BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 30. The data on 390,709 anti-tank mines and other remnants of war have been obtained from the minefield forms handed over by the Armenian side, Chairman of the Board of the Azerbaijani Mine Action Agency (ANAMA) Vugar Suleymanov said at a business meeting of donors and partners of the Karabakh Revival Fund and ANAMA, Trend reports.
Suleymanov noted that the data indicated in the transferred forms turned out to be accurate only by about 25 percent.
“The forms for minefields cover a limited territory, which is about five percent of the conflict-affected territories and 1.25 percent of the liberated territory,” Suleymanov said.
To note, a working meeting was held between the Azerbaijani Mine Action Agency (ANAMA) and the donors and partners of the Karabakh Revival Fund on October 30.
The event, aimed at bolstering ANAMA's demining efforts—one of the key priorities for expediting the Great Return Plan—was attended by officials, members of parliament, donors, partners of the Karabakh Revival Fund, and media representatives.
