Azeri president received credential of new USA ambassador to Azerbaijan

Azeri president Ilham Aliyev on July 3 received the credential of the new USA embassy to Baku Anne Derse,Trend reports with reference to the press-service of the Azeri presidents office. During the ceremony, the sides mentioned the importance of the future expansion of the bilateral relations.

On April 30, the USA president George Bush proposed the candidature of Anne Derse for the ambassador position in Azerbaijan. The USA Congress considered and confirmed this proposal. Anne Derse was the director on bio-defense in the Defense Council of the White House. Up that period, she held the position of the chief adviser on economical relations in the USA Embassy in Baghdad. She has the bachelor degree of the Macalester College and masters degree of the Johns Hopkins University.

According to information provided by the head of the USA Embassy press-service, Anne Derse on July 8 will participate in the reception on the occasion of the USA Independence Day. In late July early August, she will go on holiday and leave for the USA.
