New British Ambassador to Azerbaijan to Take her Office in Jul

Dr. Carolyn Browne has been appointed Ambassador to the Republic of Azerbaijan. She will succeed Dr. Laurie Bristow who will be transferring to another Diplomatic appointment. Dr Browne will take up her new appointment in early July 2007, Trend reports citing the British Foreign Ministry.

Ms. Browne was born on 19 October 1958. From 1986 to 1987 she worked at the Foreign Ministry of the Republic of Ireland as Desk Officer, from 1988 to 19910 - Second Secretary, later First Secretary, in Moscow, from 1991 to 1993 - European Union Department, from 1993 to 1997 - UK Mission to the UN, New York, from 1999 2002 - Deputy Head Southern European Department at the Foreign Ministry, from 2002 - 2004 - UK Representative head in Brussels, from 2005 to 2006 - Adviser to Director, International Security.
