Russia to Assist Voluntary Immigration of Russian Population Back to Russia

Azerbaijan, Baku/ Trend , corr. S. Aghayeva/ Russia is ready to assist in voluntary immigration of its compatriots, living abroad, including those who live in Azerbaijan, to their historical fatherland - Russia.

Yevgeny Manyatkin, a Representative of a Department of the Russian Federal Migration Service, told journalists in Baku today that immigration will be carried out in accordance with the State Programme on Voluntary Immigration of Russian Compatriots Living Abroad, which was recently adopted in Russia.

According to Mr. Manyatkin, preparatory work for a necessary package of normative and legal documents is nearly completed. Programmes for different Russian regions, which are ready to accept compatriots from abroad, are currently under consideration. "I think that in May or June 2007, we can officially receive applications from those compatriots, who want to move to Russia in accordance with the terms provided by the mentioned programme," concluded the representative.
