Azerbaijan’s Azercosmos OJSC has signed a cooperation agreement with Georgian Media Holding, Azercosmos told Trend.
The Azerbaijani satellite Azerspace-1 will broadcast the Georgian TV channels Rustavi-2, Comedy TV and Marao TV, owned by Media Holding.
The programs of these TV channels, which have a large audience, include social, political, economic, analytical programs in the Georgian language, the company said.
Director General of Media Holding Zaza Gvelesiani has stated that this company is glad to cooperate with Azerbaijan.
“Thanks to cooperation with Azercosmos OJSC, both residents of all regions of Georgia and compatriots abroad will be able to watch our TV channels,” Gvelesiani added.
Azercosmos has been holding a leading position in the Georgian market for six years, being a reliable supplier of satellite services.
“We are confident that we will continue to expand our cooperation with Media Holding in the field of broadcasting Georgian TV channels,” said Head of Azerspace commercial group Yolchu Hasanov.
Azercosmos OJSC operates two communication satellites - Azerspace-1 and Azerspace-2, as well as the low-orbit satellite - Azersky.
The company's revenues from the export of satellite and telecommunications services in 2020 amounted to $45.1 million, which is 4 percent more compared to 2019.
