The turnover of new generation online (POS) cash registers in Azerbaijan in the first 10 months of 2021 significantly grew, Trend reports citing the State Tax Service (STS) under the Ministry of Economy.
According to the STS, this figure amounted to 12.5 billion manat ($7.3 billion), up by 1.9 times on annual basis.
"As of today, 49,548 new generation cash registers have been registered in the country. Their use made it possible to make calculations more transparent, prevent the illegal circulation of goods and ensure control over trade," the STS said.
Besides, as of November 1, 2021, the number of active taxpayers in Azerbaijan increased by 6.2 percent and amounted to 654,465 people.
"During the reporting period, the number of active VAT payers increased by 15.6 percent and reached 33,700 people. The number of active economic entities also increased by 7.9 percent, reaching 180,292," added the STS said.
The State Tax Service accomplished the forecast for transfers to the state budget by 122.4 percent from January through October of this year. The amount transferred to the budget in excess of the forecast equaled 1.65 billion manat ($970 million).
In total, over 7.3 billion manat ($4.3 billion) were transferred to the state budget in the reporting period.
