Starting from April 1, 2020, an improved procedure of state construction control of construction, reconstruction and capital repair objects based on the categories of risks and functional purpose of objects, will be implemented in Uzbekistan, Trend reports citing Uzbek media.

The procedure is stipulated, among other steps, by a presidential decree on measures of radical improvement of construction quality and installation, and improvement of the construction control system.

Under the decree, the government will work out a draft decision on the approval of an administrative regulation on the state construction control of the objects.

The presidential decree grants Inspectorate for Construction Control and Territorial Inspections with a number of rights in state construction control.

In particular, the inspectorates will have the right to suspend construction and assembly works and to demand that dismantling works be carried out in cases when constructive violations affecting the seismic resistance of buildings and constructions are detected, as well as those that endanger human life and health.

According to the decree, as of March 1, 2020, requirements for state construction control of capital repair facilities, except for facilities financed from the budgets of the budget system, are abolished.

Existing procedures for the acceptance of objects completed by construction, with the introduction of procedures for the issuance of permits for their operation by the Inspectorate and territorial inspectorates (step-by-step within a certain time frame) are abolished as well.
