Azerbaijan, Baku, 10 January / Trend corr. I.Alizadeh / The Azerbaijani Parliament is to develop a legislation in order to increase the quality of agricultural products manufactured in the country.
"Poisoning the population and the infection of different diseases is a result of ecologically-polluted products. The public does not know that they are using ecologically polluted and unhealthy products," Eldar Ibrahimov, the chairman of the permanent parliamentary commission of Azerbaijan on agrarian issues, said.
According to Ibrahimov, the goal of the new legislation is to provide ecologically clear and quality products to the population in the country. "Products are manufactured; however we do not know how the components of the products influence the human health. The legislation reflects the issues in creation of the mechanism to produce quality agricultural products and to make those people answerable who are engaged in manufacturing polluted products," Ibrahimov said.
The legislation will be discussed by the permanent commission on agrarian issues on 20 January. And the legislation will be submitted to the parliamentary spring session for consideration on 1 February.
