TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, May 7. Hungary is ready to support Uzbekistan's nuclear program by training future professionals and providing cooling technology if Uzbekistan enters into a contract with Rosatom (Russia's nuclear energy corporation) to build a new plant, Trend reports.
"Péter Szijjártó, Hungary's Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, stated that future cooperation may strategically include nuclear energy, given Uzbekistan's projected electricity demand doubling by 2030," Zoltan Kovacs, Hungary's Secretary of State for International Communication, wrote on his page on X.
The minister also highlighted expanding academic cooperation, with all leading Hungarian universities partnering with Uzbek institutions. He pointed to the growing number of Uzbek students applying for Hungarian scholarships, which has surpassed 1,000 for the current semester.
