Tender issued on improvement of capital in Azerbaijan

The Baku City Administration issued an open tender to improve the capital city, work on which has been distributed in 14 lots, the official media reported.

The lots envisage next work: construction of new modern fountains; technical reclamation of lands in Baku; repair of avenues, streets, parks, gardens and yards in all districts of the capital, lighting, repair and restoration of roofs and facades of historical buildings of the capital; capital repair of roofs of buildings, sewage, water supply and heating lines at buildings, transition squares, stairs and facades of buildings; purchase and installation of bronze lighting lamps in streets, avenues and yards.

All the work should finish by late 2009.

Participation in the tender on each lot costs 100 manat.

Participants should submit tender bids, bank guarantee by 2 percent of cost of tender bids and a reference on absence of tax debts, as well as other obligatory payments, banking reference on financial state in the last year, confirmed financial report for the last year's activity by the tax body and data on potential opportunities to conduct this work.

Tender bids should be submitted by Feb. 11. Bids will be assessed at a building of the Baku City Administration on Feb. 12.

On Jan. 16, the official exchange rate is 0.8039 manat to $1.
