Uzbekistan national air company receives three А-320-200 planes

Uzbekistan Airways has acquired three new A320-200 airliners, purchased from Airbus Industry, a source in the airline told Trend on Friday.

It was reported that in 2007-2008, Uzbekistan Airways signed contracts with Airbus Industry to acquire ten A-320-200 planes, as well as with Boeing to purchase four Boeing-767-300ER and two Boeing-787-800 Dreamliner. The purchase is financed at the own expense of the company (10 percent of the cost), loan from the Fund for Reconstruction and Development of Uzbekistan (50 percent) and loans from foreign banks (40 percent).

In accordance with the approved schedule, in the first phase - from July to December 2010, the company will receive six A-320-200 planes with CFM-56-5B engines worth $258.6 million. In the second stage - in 2012-2013 - four Boeing-767-300ER with PW 4062 engines worth $347.6 million, in the third stage - in 2013-2014 - four A-320-200 with CFM-56 5B engines worth $190.9 million. In July and August 2016, the company will receive two Boeing-787-800 Dreamliner with GENX-1B64 engines worth $230.4 million.

Uzbekistan Airways is Uzbekistan's exclusive air carrier. The company is state-owned.
