Alexei Vlasov: World economic élite concerned with situation in global markets

Russian political scientist Alexei Vlasov, who attended the IV Astana Economic Forum this week, voiced deep concern with the situation on global markets.

"The Kazakh side organized the forum well. But many participants were not optimistic. Everyone spoke about a new phase of the crisis," Vlasov, a Trend Expert Council member, and the chief editor of the Russian Vestnik Kavkaza analytical agency, said in an interview with Trend.

According to most experts, if oil prices keep up the previous dynamics, the U.S. economy will face serious problems.

"From this point of view "news" on killing of Bin Laden is not only pre-election move, but also an attempt to change investors' mood," Vlasov said.

The sidelines of the Astana forum that the business has not drawn proper conclusions from the events of 2007-2009. Voracious capitalism continues to ask for trouble.

The Astana Economic Forum has been held every year since 2008.
