Uzbek soum exchange rate decreases by 9.5 percent in 2011

The official exchange rate of Uzbek soum, set by the Uzbek Central Bank decreased by 9.5 percent compared to the U.S. dollar in 2011. It decreased from 1.640.00 soum per $1 on January 1, 2011 to 1,795 soum per $1 on January 1, 2012.

The national currency rate decreased by 8.5 percent in 2010 compared to the U.S. dollar (from 1511.4 soum/$1 to 1.640 soum/$1). In 2009 the situation was the same, as the rate decreased by 8.5 percent compared to $1 (from 1393 soums/$1 to 1511 4 soums/$1).

The rate of the soum decreased by 8.2 percent compared to 1 euro in 2011 (from 2.165.13 soums/euro to 2.341.97 soums/euro). The decrease compared to the Russian ruble was 7.1 percent (from 53.63 soums/ruble to 57.43 soums/ruble, the Chinese yuan 14.6 percent (from 247.49 soums/yuan to 283.62 soums/yuan, by 16.4 percent to 10 Japanese Yen (from 197.83 soums for 10 yen to 230.25 soums for 10 yen).
