Azerbaijan studies EU's experience in internal control

Azerbaijan studies the European Union countries' experience to apply best practice in internal control and risk management, the head of internal control department at the Azerbaijani Economic Development Ministry Ayaz Aliyev told journalists on Monday.
On Monday Baku hosted a workshop on the topic "Internal control and risk management" initiated by the Economic Development Ministry.
"Under an action plan for 2007-2011, in accordance with international practice, development of activity of agencies of internal control in government, application of innovations in risk management, study of legislation and best practice available in the EU countries is envisaged within the national strategy on combating corruption and increasing transparency.
Today's workshop in Baku held with the participation of international experts mainly has these goals,"Aliyev said.
He said it is important to develop and apply full system of internal control in Azerbaijan, since it plays a significant role in enhancing efficiency of administration.
The workshop presented the experience of countries such as France, Romania, Spain and Bulgaria.
