Agrarians of the Dashoguz province (oblast) of Turkmenistan have coped with the annual task of providing high-quality fruit, vegetable and horticultural products to the food market, the Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper reported.

İn total, over 4,000 tons of cabbage, about 8,500 tons of carrots, 17,000 tons of onions, were harvested.

In the region, the volume of production of vitamin products is steadily growing, which makes it possible to meet the needs of the region's residents, as well as deliver it to the capital markets and to the wholesale and retail networks.

Further, about 48,000 tons of potatoes, 1,000 tons of cucumbers, over 14,280 tons of tomatoes, 58,556 tons of melons, were harvested.

Private greenhouse facilities have been established on the territory of the province within the state program of import substitution. One of these greenhouse facilities is the enterprise Altyn Gala Gurlusyk, where 800 tons of tomatoes and other types of vegetable crops will be grown.

Experts note that high yields of horticultural, and melon crops were harvested through the rational use of sown areas and water resources, selection of varieties that are most adapted to the natural and climatic conditions of the region, marketing planning and active introduction of agricultural innovations.
