CEO of German transport and logistics company JÖBSTL East GmbH Angelika Fischer expressed intention to create a transport and logistics center in one of the regions of Uzbekistan, Trend reports via Uzbek media.
She announced this at a round table organized by the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Germany together with the Bavarian Economic Forum East-West (OstWestWirtschaftsForumBayern) in Munich.
The round table was dedicated to the prospects for trade, economic and investment cooperation between Uzbekistan and Bavaria. It was attended by representatives of more than 20 leading Bavarian companies representing various sectors of the economy.
During the round table, participants were presented with new investment projects in the food, textile, automotive, agricultural, chemical and pharmaceutical industries, which aroused great interest among representatives of Bavarian companies specializing in these areas.
President of the East-West Bavarian Economic Forum Eberhard Zinner noted that a number of Bavarian companies operating in the chemical and food industries as well as mechanical engineering and construction materials segments, are negotiating joint projects with their Uzbek partners.
It is planned to organize a visit of a delegation of Bavarian business circles to Uzbekistan in the near future in order to familiarize them with the investment and export opportunities of local enterprises and discuss the potential for the implementation of specific investment projects.
One of the most influential politicians of Bavaria, the former prime minister of this federal state Günther Beckstein,also expressed his willingness to join the Bavarian delegation during the upcoming visit to Uzbekistan.
