Kazakhstan, Russia's KAMAZ to launch project worth over $400M

The realization of projects on manufacturing of KAMAZ trucks spare parts at the AgromashHolding plant was launched in Kostanay region of Kazakhstan, within the framework of industrial cooperation between Kazakhstan and Russia, said the Head of Kostanay region Archimed Mukhambetov, Trend reports with reference to Kazakh media.

"The framework of cooperation with KAMAZ realization of a number of projects on manufacturing of superstructures, reduction drives, foundry engineering. Furthermore an Engineering Center is also to be created. Allocation of some $400 million is planned for the realization of these projects,” the report said.

“The KAMAZ manufacturing of drivetrains for cars is unique for Eurasian Economic Union. It is planned that the manufacturing volume of reduction drives will amount to 86,000 units a year with a potential increase to 180,000 units a year. Furthermore, some 95 percent of the manufactured product is to be exported,” Mukhambetov said.

The manufacturing of superstructures is planned in the volume of 1,500 units a year with a future increase to 5,000 units a year.

Furthermore, the launch of the Engineering Center will allow to create the area of test site, as well as to train highly qualified personnel. The project is to be realized in cooperation with Kostanai State University named after A. Baitursynov.
