Small enterprise to support women's business development to open in Azerbaijani district

As part of a project implemented with financial support from the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO), a small enterprise for the production of bakery products is expected to open in Azerbaijan, Head of the Association of Women Entrepreneurs of Azerbaijan Sakina Babayeva told Trend.

The new facility will open in Tovuz district, according to Babayeva.

"The cost of the project is 120,000 manats. The project is financed by the association and SECO, and each of the parties will contribute 50 percent of the financial resources. The small business starts operating in December 2019 and will contribute to the opening of 15 permanent jobs," she said.

According to Babayeva, the establishment of the new enterprise is aimed at supporting the development of women's entrepreneurship in Azerbaijani regions.

According to statistical data, over 143,000 women are employed in the sphere of business in Azerbaijan.

The Association of Women Entrepreneurs of Azerbaijan was established in October 2017 with the support of Azerbaijan’s State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs.
