Georgia exports ignificant number of tractors, trucks to Azerbaijan

Georgia exported 609 trucks worth $4.077 million to Azerbaijan in the first quarter of 2021, with their number exceeding that of the last year by 203, Trend reports referring to Georgian National Statistics Office (Geostat).

From January through March, Azerbaijan imported 23 tractors (10 more tractors than in 2020) from Georgia, the total price of which reached $367,000.

The volume of Georgia's foreign trade turnover with Azerbaijan amounted to $250.29 million from January through March of this year, which is 13.6 percent or $39.33 million less than in the same period of 2020.

For the same period last year, this figure was $289.63 million.

During the reporting period, Georgia imported goods and products from Azerbaijan for $145.71 million, which is 11.4 percent less in annual comparison. During the reporting period, imports from Azerbaijan amounted to 7.5 percent of Georgia's total imports.

From January through March, Georgia's exports to Azerbaijan amounted to $104.57 million. This is 16.4 percent less than in the same period last year. Exports to Azerbaijan accounted for 12.7 percent of Georgia's total exports.

As a result, in the first quarter of 2021, a negative balance of $41.13 million was formed in the trade turnover of Georgia with Azerbaijan, which is 4.2 percent more in annual terms.

For the same period last year, the negative balance amounted to $39.46 million.
