Iran starts to export sulfuric acid from Hormozgan Province

A number of railway lines and facilities for the transportation, storage, and export of sulfuric acid were put into operation in the Hormozgan Province (southern Iran) today on July 1, Governor of Iran's Hormozgan Province Fereidoun Hemmati said, Trend reports citing IRINN.

He made the remark today at an event dedicated to the launch of a number of facilities in Iran.

The governor emphasized that a total of 13.4 million euros and 2.09 trillion rials (about $49.7 million) were spent and 50 people were employed.

“So, 100 wagons (capacity of 65 tons) on transporting sulfuric acid from Sarcheshmeh Copper Mine Complex to Bandar Abbas port, and 200 wagons (capacity of 30 tons) on transporting sulfuric acid from Khatunabad Copper Mine Complex to Bandar Abbas port were put into operation in Iran's Kerman Province. In this regard, a 5.5 km long railway line has been laid,” he added.

Hemmati noted that moreover, 8 warehouses (capacity of 14,000 tons) for the export of sulfuric acid were built in the Bandar Abbas port.

As reported, 6 facilities have been put into operation in 4 provinces of Iran on July 1. In this regard, 35.6 trillion rials (about $848 million) were spent and 881 people were employed.
