Ismat Abbasov, the Agriculture Minister, held a meeting with representatives of Valmont, an industrial company, on Monday. The Agriculture Ministry told Trend representatives of the company were going to implement 3 projects in Azerbaijan with Azersun Holding on sugar beet, with MKT and GTS on cotton growing.
The Agriculture Ministry announced in accordance with the pilot projects to be set up next year, it is planned to allocate 250h area sown under beet and cotton for grains growing. The technique and fertilities were supplied by Valmont company. The Agriculture Ministry
will select the areas and territory for the pilot projects.
“If the pilot projects yield efficiency, in 2007 the sown area will be increased to 10,000-11,000h,” the Ministry said.
During the meeting with Ismat Abbasov, the Agriculture Minister, we discussed the elements to accord the actions to be implemented under the projects.
