ASTANA, Kazakhstan, May 10. Kazakhstan and the Netherlands signed seven commercial agreements aimed at developing bilateral relations in such areas as agribusiness, health care, ecology, transportation and logistics, Trend reports.
The documents were signed in Astana with the support of the Dutch Embassy in Kazakhstan and Kazakh Invest.
Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Agriculture signed a document on the improvement of the veterinary system in the country with the Dutch Royal GD.
The project implies modernization of the veterinary system of Kazakhstan‘s Ministry of Agriculture, which in turn will allow for the quality control of livestock products in accordance with international standards and create conditions for the export of domestic products to Western markets.
Also, Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Health signed a memorandum of cooperation with Dutch Royal Philips in the production of medical devices in Kazakhstan. Under the project, the Dutch company plans to localize the production of portable ultrasound devices by Philips in Kazakhstan.
In addition, Kazakhstan and the Netherlands signed:
- Memorandum between the Committee of State Inspection in the agro-industrial complex of Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Agriculture and Dutch Naktuinbouw on the improvement of the phytosanitary system and mutual support for joining UPOV;
- Memorandum on the realization of the project to produce carbon credits in the Kyzylorda region with the Dutch DGB company;
- Memorandum of understanding between Kazakh Kyzylorda region and Dutch Spectator Ehealth Holding B.V. on realization of the project in the sphere of telemedicine;
- Memorandum of cooperation between the Center for International Programs and the Erasmus Medical Center on the allocation of special grants;
- Memorandum on fishery development between the Committee for Fishery of Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Agriculture and Dutch Alltech Coppens.
Meanwhile, the volume of trade turnover between Kazakhstan and the Netherlands amounted to $4.449 billion in 2023. The volume of trade turnover decreased by 23 percent compared to the same period in 2022 ($5.785 billion).
