The visit of Donna Dowset-Coirolo, Regional Director for South Caucasus, WB, to Baku has ended recently. The bank officials told Trend that the complete visit aimed at exchanging opinions with economic block of the government on further cooperation within the new partnership strategy (2006-2009).

She also talked to governmental officials on three projects within the strategy: reforms in legal system, health and agriculture. These projects are to be approved by WBs Board of Directors on June 29, 2006.

In the course of her visit, Ms Dowset-Coirolo met also with Prime Minister Artur Rasizadeh, as well as heads of financial and economic agencies.

The strategy approval issues will be solved upon completion of assessment of member-countries made by International Development Association (IDA), which have an access to the banks preferential credits. The process of their rating is complete by June, and in early June the banks economists are arriving in Azerbaijan to discuss the rating impact on WB-Azerbaijan cooperation program. Apart from IDA, the country also has an access to IBRDs credit resources.
