Azerenerji to Receive Nine Power Generating Units for Modular Power Station in Sangachal

Azerbaijan, Baku, 3 April / Trend / In May, nine power generating units will be set up at the new Sangachal-based modular power station with the total production capacity comprising 300 MW, Azerenerji JSC reported. The power station is planned to be launched in September.

Previously, Azerenerji intended to launch first 3 of the planned 12 power units in February-March, but due to end of winter, all power units will be put into operation simultaneously. The power generating units were manufactured by Finnish Wartsila.

Wartsila offered new technology of switching the Sangachal power station from gas to fuel oil and vice versa. Previously, the company had planned to switch within 24 hours, and now the term was reduced to half an hour. New power generating units in Sangachl are required to ensure high-quality and uninterrupted power supply to Absheron Peninsula.
